A new batch of The White Lotus guests are ready to check in.

HBO announced on Friday, December 19 that Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka are the first actors cast in the upcoming season 4 of The White Lotus.

“Beyond honored,” the Hunger Games actor, 33, wrote via Instagram, sharing the announcement. “Huge thank you to Mike [White] for your trust in me and can’t wait to bring this unbelievable material to life. ❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌.”

Ludwig’s casting even had the approval of season 3 star Patrick Schwarzenegger.

“Dude, I’m so happy for you,” Schwarzenegger, 32, commented, alongside two heart emojis.

Michalka, 34, also shared the news via her social media page, writing, “Checking in! Let’s party, Mike.”

AJ, best known for her eponymous band with sister Aly Michalka, had the support of her older sibling.

“So major!!!!!!! Marfa was good luck 😍,” Aly, 34, replied. “Proud of you little.”

Further details about Ludwig and AJ’s characters have yet to be revealed, along with the rest of the cast list.

The White Lotus, created by Mike White, premiered on HBO in 2021, chronicling a group of guests and employees at a fictional hotel chain. Each season has starred a different group of actors and taken place in a new destination. Season 4, specifically, will say bonjour to a city in France.

“It’s going to be in France,” HBO chairman Casey Bloys said during the network’s programming presentation last month, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Mike is writing and just starting.”

He added, “Beyond that, locations, anything like that, there’s nothing official [to say]. Mike has got ideas that he’s working on, and I think it’s going to be great.”

Weeks earlier, season 3 star Parker Posey teased at the Emmy Awards that White wasn’t present because he was location-scouting in the south of France, which was “where season 4’s gonna be.”

Posey’s revelation even surprised her costars.

“I am Jon Snow. I know nothing, so this is news to me,” Natasha Rothwell, who’s played Belinda on multiple seasons, exclusively told Us Weekly in October. “Let me tell you, I love being the last to know when it comes to White Lotus, because I had to keep secrets for season 3 for two years.”

She continued, “I read the script [for season 3]. I just knew too much, and so, I love not knowing [about season 4]. I’m going to text Parker and ask her, like, ‘Where did you find this out?’ I know nothing.”

While most details about the new season have been kept under wraps, White, 55, previously teased there will be at least one major change from years past.

“For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular,” White said in an April video released by HBO after the season 3 finale. “But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”

The first seasons took place in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand, respectively.

“Each season has its own cohesive tone,” White added at the time.

A premiere date for The White Lotus season 4 has not been revealed.
