Kevin Shattenkirk is 35, a Stanley Cup champion and now a father of three with his wife, Deanna, after having a second daughter in September.

The native of New Rochelle and resident of the Hamptons is straddling the line between unrestricted free agency and retirement, after having gone unsigned following his 2023-24 season with the Bruins.

But Slap Shots has learned from a trusted source that the one-time Blueshirts No. 22 rejected an offer from a western Canadian team — Edmonton, Calgary or Vancouver — within the past two weeks.

Which makes it more likely than not that Shattenkirk will end his career after 952 games unless a perfect scenario arises.
