If you believe Aaron Glenn, Breece Hall is not going anywhere.
The Jets coach was asked Monday about possibly trading Hall because of the emergence of fellow running back Braelon Allen.
“Guys, listen, Breece is still a part of this team,” Glenn said. “I understand how the noise happens when things like this happen. I’ve said it before, we’re in the business of keeping good players and he’s one of our better players. So, Breece will still be here.”
The Jets signed Hall to a three-year, $45.75 million contract in May but Hall has missed the last five games with a quad injury. That opened the door for Allen, who has topped 100 yards rushing in three of those five starts. He ran for 147 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s loss to the Raiders.
That has raised speculation that the Jets could trade Hall, who is expected to return to the lineup this week. Glenn was asked if there is any scenario where Hall could be traded.
“We’re in the process of keeping good players,” Glenn said.
The Jets traded cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams last year at the deadline, so the Jets have traded good players recently. This year’s trade deadline is Nov. 10 at 4 p.m.
