Adam Brody and Leighton Meester Turn ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 Premiere Into Glam Date Night

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester stepped out in style for their latest date night at the Nobody Wants This season 2 premiere.

The couple walked the red carpet together on Thursday, October 16, where Brody, 45, looked dapper in a gray blazer, orange sweater and charcoal-colored slacks. Meester, 39, shimmered in a purple ombré gown with a plunging V-neck.

Brody stars as Noah, an unconventional rabbi, in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This opposite Kristen Bell as an agnostic sex podcaster named Joanne. Meester, who has been married to Brody since 2014, will join her husband in the second season as Joanne’s childhood frenemy.

“Leighton is awesome. She’s so kind, she’s so fun, and she’s so funny, and them together on set, they’re just so sweet together,” Justine Lupe, who plays Joanne’s sister on the show, exclusively told Us Weekly last month at the 2025 Emmy Awards. “They’re a really great couple, so we were so excited to have her. I’m so happy she did it.”

Meester, who also attended the Emmys with her husband, echoed Lupe’s sentiments and told Entertainment Tonight that she had “one of the most fun times [she’s] ever had on a set” while filming her Nobody Wants This scenes.

Nobody Wants This was created by sisters Erin and Sara Foster. The series was loosely inspired by Erin’s own interfaith marriage to Simon Tikhman. (Erin, 43, converted to Judaism upon marrying Tikhman, 41, in 2019.)

“This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” Erin told Tudum in September 2024. “I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable — there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.”

Brody has also been vocal about signing onto Nobody Wants This, which won him a Critics Choice Award for his performance in season 1.

“You get incredibly familiar with someone on set within a few hours; if I sit here with you for three more hours, we’re going to know each other pretty well and be comfortable,” Brody said of working with Bell, 45, in a 2024 interview with The Los Angeles Times. “It’s not like something that can’t be acquired, but I do think having worked together before, knowing that we got along, knowing that we work well together — you know there’s a high floor, if that’s the phrase. You’re starting from a good place. How high you can go is still an open question.”

While it’s not known how Meester will fit into Bell and Brody’s onscreen love story, the OC alum loves frequently collaborating with his wife.

“Everything is run through each other. We’re each other’s manager. We also have the same two agents,” Brody told Bell’s husband, Dax Shepard, on his “Armchair Expert” podcast in September 2024. “We are in each other’s s*** in that way. … She’s charmingly aloof to the business. She will literally not know Seth Rogen’s name, you know what I mean? It’s f***ing great because it doesn’t diminish her art. That’s not where she’s focusing, so she has that outsider quality and she can come in, but she’s such an artist.”

Nobody Wants This season 2 premieres on Netflix Thursday, October 23.
