Workers are putting the finishing touches on a new, 42,024 square foot Whole Foods Market scheduled to open at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, west of Boynton Beach.
On opening day, customers will receive complimentary coffee and cookies and the first 300 in line will get a custom tote bag and Secret Saver coupon featuring offers up to $100 off. Regular hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily.
The supermarket is the anchor at Boynton Beach Marketplace, which includes several other shops at the northeast corner of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Hagen Ranch Road, one of the last undeveloped properties on the populated east-west artery.
SJC Ventures planned for the shopping center to open by the end of 2023, but leaders at the Atlanta-based development firm had to push the date back another year.
The shopping center will be the sixth Whole Foods in Palm Beach County and will offer a more convenient option for fans of the chain, which is owned by Amazon, operated out of Austin, Texas, and based on natural and organic foods.
The closest locations are in Delray Beach and Wellington, both more than 10 miles from the new location coming to unincorporated Boynton Beach. A seventh Whole Foods will soon join the shops and restaurants of Uptown Boca, an upscale development west of the city on Glades Road just east of State Road 7.
Whole Foods will join several other supermarkets in the growing region west of Boynton Beach. Residents now have their pick of six Publix supermarkets, Super Target, Winn-Dixie, Sprouts Farmers Market, Aldi and a Walmart Neighborhood Market roughly within a 3-mile radius. Whole Foods will make 12 grocery stores in that radius for an astounding 435,721 square footage of food selections.
Along with the Whole Foods anchor, Boynton Beach Marketplace will include a Liquivida Med Spa, a Tipsy Nail Bar, a Pacific Dental Services, a Madison Reed and an Orangetheory Fitness.

Other tenants include Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, Olive U Mediterranean Grill and Turning Point Breakfast Restaurant, along with Petfolk and Tide Dry Cleaners.
Palm Beach Harvest, a local food bank, will receive a food donation on opening day as part of Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods Program, which will assist the community.
The store will feature more than 1,500 local products from 240 Florida-based suppliers, according to a news release. The new location will include a full-service seafood counter with sustainable options, a specialty cheese department, a curated grocery section and a prepared foods department with a hot bar, salad bar and fresh sushi.
