While Alicia Silverstone looked radiant on the 2026 Critics Choice Awards red carpet, she struggled with the zipper later that night.

“We can’t get this dress off,” Silverstone, 49, said in footage shared via Instagram on Friday, January 9. “What do we do? I’ve got Bear and Bear’s dad trying to help me get out of this dress, and I can’t get out of it.”

Silverstone and Christopher Jarecki were married from 2005 to 2018, during which time they welcomed their son, Bear. The exes now amicably coparent their 14-year-old, even living in the same neighborhood.

According to the Clueless actress, she called Jarecki, 49, for assistance when she came home from the awards ceremony earlier this month.

“She’s got a big butt,” Jarecki jokingly responded, prompting Silverstone to giggle. “She’s got a great big butt.”

Silverstone wore a fitted, strapless silver Stella McCartney gown to the Critics Choice Awards, which she paired with jewelry from Le Vian Jewelry and A. Jaffe.

The actress had attended the 2026 Critics Choice Awards in support of her movie Bugonia, which earned three nominations.

“I was thrilled to work with Yorgos [Lanthimos] about seven years ago on Killing of a Sacred Deer and I just am a huge fan of his,” Silverstone told Good Morning America on the red carpet. “He’s such an extraordinary artist, so I was so happy he asked me to participate in this one, Bugonia.

She continued, “He’s brilliant, it was so much fun [and] I felt a perfect amount of excitement and fear about the role, and Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons are so extraordinary and lovely. It was just a dream, really.”

Silverstone balances her still-thriving acting career with raising Bear alongside Jarecki.

“I’m really lucky that we have such a good … we’re so good at coparenting with each other,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2018. “We both see [our son] Bear, unless I’m away shooting something where he can’t be there, but he usually comes with me anyway.”

According to Silverstone, she and Jarecki “literally communicate every day” about Bear’s schedule and best interests.

“There’s no way to tell anybody how to make their relationship work or their thing work. It just works for us,” she said at the time. “We both love our son, right? We both want to be with our son and we both love each other too.”

Three years later, Silverstone gave Us an update on Bear’s hobbies.

“He’s happy with doing a bunch of other things, so we’ll see,” she told Us in 2021, noting her only child wasn’t interested in following in her acting footsteps. “But right now, it’s not in his mind.”

While Bear showed no passion for acting, he was a fan of some of his mom’s most famous roles.

“He loves [The Baby-Sitters Club reboot so much,” she gushed. “He might love Clueless too. I’d have to ask him, but he’s definitely into The Baby-Sitter’s Club. … “He needs to watch Braceface, that’s the show I produced, an animated show for kids.”
