As several fires continue to devastate Los Angeles and its surrounding areas, the live events that usually dominate this time of year are being canceled or postponed. Here’s what’s happening.

Awards Season

Awards season in L.A. is going to look a lot different this year; for the events not canceled outright, expect a more somber mood from Hollywood’s elite.

Chelsea Handler is hosting the renowned Critics Choice Awards for the third year, and nominees include Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. The televised event honoring film and TV achievements was postponed from Sunday, January 12 to Sunday, January 26.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, whose members were still voting on their picks for this year’s Oscars when the fires broke out, were given six extra days. They now have to get their ballots in by today, Tuesday January 14. The nominees’ announcement was postponed from Friday, January 17 to Thursday, January 23.

The in-person announcement for this year’s SAG Awards was canceled, but the nominations were announced.

The Resonator Awards, honoring women in music production and engineering, was postponed until further notice. It was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 28.

The American Cinematheque Tribute to the Crafts, which recognizes filmmakers in 14 categories, has been postponed until further notice. It was originally set to take place Thursday, January 9.

The International Cinematographers Guild’s film nominations for the 62nd annual ICG Publicists Awards have been postponed until further notice.

The ACE Eddie Awards for American cinema editors, originally scheduled for Monday, January 13 is postponed until further notice.

The Producers Guild has pushed nomination announcements for its PGA Awards from Sunday, January 12 to sometime next week.

The American Society of Cinematographers’ nominations for the ASC Awards have been postponed until further notice.

The AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 11, has been postponed until further notice.

Grammys

The Grammy Awards will air February 2 as planned, but this year’s somber mood means the hoopla usually around the music awards will be minimized this year. The Recording Academy donated $1 million to relief efforts.

The usually epic Warner Music Group Grammy Party was canceled — the company donated $1 million to fire relief and rebuilding efforts via its Warner Music Group/Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund.

Also canceled outright is the Universal Music Group Grammys 2025 Artist Showcase and Post-Grammy Party. The world’s largest music company is redirecting resources to fire relief.

The Milk & Honey + Reservoir Pre-Grammy Party for music insiders was also canceled and is instead raising money for MusiCares.

Beyoncé’s Announcement

Beyoncé had been teasing a big announcement to drop today, Tuesday, January 14, but she announced on Instagram that it has been postponed until further notice.

Concerts

The following concerts were affected by L.A.’s fires.

Glaive at Echoplex, Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11 — canceled.

Calibash at Crypto.com Arena, Saturday, January 18 — postponed until March 7. All purchased tickets will be honored.

The Weeknd at the Rose Bowl, Saturday, January 25 —canceled. He has also pushed his accompanying album drop for Hurry Up Tomorrow to Friday, January 31.

Movie and TV Red Carpet Premieres

The premiere for Robbie Williams’ biopic, Better Man, was originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 8 but was canceled.

A red carpet screening of Jennifer Lopez’s new wrestling drama, Unstoppable, was canceled Tuesday, January 7. The film will be available to stream on Prime Video Thursday, January 16.

Netflix’s red carpet premiere event for the second season of The Night Agent was canceled.

The premiere of Keke Palmer’s One of Them Days, originally scheduled for Monday, January 13, was canceled. The film hits theaters Friday, January 17.

Cameron Diaz’s movie comeback, Back in Action, won’t have a premiere. The event, originally set for Thursday, January 9 in New York City, was canceled. The movie also marks Jamie Foxx’s return to work after his health scare.

Apple TV’s Severance won’t have a Season 2 premiere; Apple is donating to relief efforts instead.

Pamela Anderson is getting a lot of buzz for her role in the Golden Globe-nominated film The Last Showgirl, but its Wednesday, January 15 premiere was canceled.

Julia Garner and Christopher Abbott’s Wolf Man premiere was canceled. It was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 7.

Concerts at The Troubadour

The iconic West Hollywood venue has postponed the following shows:

Annika Rose, Wednesday, January 8 — postponed until January 23.

Dogs in a Pile, Saturday, January 11 — postponed until September 19, with an additional show September 18.

Sound Collective Presents show, Monday, January 13 —postponed until January 27.

Max McNown at The Troubadour, Wednesday, January 15 — postponed until March 2.
