Amy Schumer is kicking off the new year with a positive and healthy mindset.
The Kinda Pregnant star, 44, took to Instagram on Sunday, January 4, to show off her recent weight loss, sharing a string of photos of herself rocking swimwear and other body-hugging garments.
“My mom took these photos of me while I was packing for a trip and the last photo I’m on the trip. This year is about self care and self love. No makeup. No filter,” she captioned the carousel. “Let’s all appreciate our health, our families, our friends, and have the best year of our lives. Moving forward with no regrets. Just love.”
In the first snap, Schumer wore a strapless red bikini top with high-waisted matching red bottoms. She held one hand on her hip as she grinned for the camera. The second photo showed her in a black one-piece, and subsequent snaps captured her in a two-piece black bikini and a dual-tone spaghetti-strap one-piece that was snapped from behind.
Remaining shots in the series showed the comedian hamming it up in two dresses, loungewear and a sweater teamed with oversized sunglasses.
The post comes less than one week after Schumer shared a mirror selfie while wearing a black Skims bodysuit, and just a few weeks after she revealed that she’s shed 50 pounds in recent months.
Speaking candidly via a since-deleted Instagram Story shared in December 2025, Schumer offered insight into her weight loss journey, which was sparked by a desire to “survive.”
She wrote in the post, “I don’t get Botox or filler. I didn’t lose 30lbs, I lost 50. Not to look hot which does feel fun and temporary. I did it to survive. I had a disease that makes your face extremely puffy that can kill you, but the internet caught it, and the disease has cleared.”
Schumer’s post seemed to reference her February 2024 Cushing syndrome diagnosis, a disorder caused by the body making too much cortisol hormone over a long period of time, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The organization’s website details that symptoms of Cushing syndrome can include weight gain, a round face, and easy bruising while problems caused can range from blood clots to high blood pressure and spiked cholesterol levels.
The post continued, “Sorry for whatever feeling it’s giving you that I lost that weight. I’ve had plastic surgery over the years and I use Mounjaro. Sorry to anyone that lets down.” (Mounjaro is a drug commonly used to treat diabetes that also results in dramatic weight loss.)
Schumer also noted that her weight loss mission was not a result of her split from estranged husband Chris Fischer, which was publicly announced by Schumer in December 2025. The pair had been married for seven years and share one son, Gene, 6.
The split was confirmed via a since-deleted Instagram post shared by Schumer on December 12. “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,” Schumer captioned the post which featured a throwback photo of the former couple on a New York City train. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”
