Minnesota Timberwolves superstar guard Anthony Edwards finally got a ring. But it wasn’t the ring most fans would’ve imagined for him.

Minnesota marriage records have indicated Edwards married to his longtime partner Shannon Jackson on July 16.

This news comes after the four-time All-Star guard and first overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft was seen wearing a wedding ring at Fanatics Fest in New York City on July 17, which raised eyebrows on social media. In hindsight, knowing that Edwards was married a day before this appearance now makes a lot more sense.

Perhaps even more interesting is that Edwards is still in the middle of a messy paternity situation.

In an April courtroom, Edwards accused Ayesha Howard of trying to publicly shame him into a child support settlement for their daughter Aubri.

Howard gave birth to Aubri in October of 2024, seven months after Jackson had Edwards’ daughter Aislynn. Edwards also has two other children with two different women, with one being born in September of 2023 and another born in October of 2023.

Edwards reportedly urged Howard to get an abortion when she revealed to him that she was pregnant, suggesting he was still trying to navigate this murky situation all while planning to marry Jackson, whom he has seemingly been with throughout Howard’s pregnancy.

Regardless, Edwards and Jackson’s relationship is clearly in a good spot right now, given that they just tied the knot. Edwards has yet to publicly comment on his wedding, and Jackson doesn’t have any public social media accounts to speak or share any details of their nuptials.

Edwards’ Timberwolves and the rest of the NBA are still waiting to see which team LeBron James will sign with in free agency, and Minnesota appears to still be in the running at this point.

If James does take his talents to Minneapolis, perhaps Edwards’ wedding ring won’t be his only one by this time next year.
