AOC isn’t extreme enough for them!

Local Democratic Socialists may censure US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for going too soft on Israel — with alleged transgressions including supporting the Jewish State’s “right to exist.”

The New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America will consider a resolution at its annual convention Saturday to shame Ocasio-Cortez even though the congresswoman has publicly criticized Israel and isn’t considered a staunch ally of the country.

The uber-liberal group’s resolution blasts Ocasio-Cortez for several statements and votes, including supporting House Resolution 888, which “affirmed Israel’s right to exist” and “recognizes that denying Israel’s right to exist is a form of antisemitism.”

“These actions violate DSA’s democratically decided program of Anti-Zionism and Palestinian liberation,” the proposed resolution said,

Other alleged issues include:

The congresswoman’s support for Resolution 996, “which only condemned Hamas, and not the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] for sexual violence,” and anti-human shield Resolution 5917, which allowed the president to sanction members of “Palestine Islamic Jihad.”

  • The Bronx Democrat signed onto an April 20 congressional letter that affirmed Israel’s right to self-defense and signaled support for the country’s “Iron Dome” defense funding.
  • The House member made statements on X, formerly Twitter, on June 11 “which used atrocity propaganda to legitimize the genocide in Gaza” about pro-Palestinian protesters saying they were guilty of “atrocious antisemitism.”
  • A June 12 tweet that DSA said conflated “rejecting Israel’s right to exist ” with antisemitism as “conspiratorial”

It’s unclear whether the resolution will have enough support to be approved at the convention.

But tensions have been brewing within the DSA over Ocasio-Cortez beyond the local chapter.

The national DSA in July revoked its conditional endorsement of the incumbent, less than three weeks after announcing it — citing, among other things, a panel she held on combating antisemitism.

She has retained the endorsement of the DSA’s-NYC chapter.

Ocasio-Cortez has been a persistent critic of Israel’s retaliatory response to conflicts with its surrounding enemies.

Last month, she slammed Israel’s pager attack targeting Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon — and accused Israel of “unequivocally” violating international law.

In March, the congresswoman accused Israel of “genocide” against the Palestinian people for killings during the war in Gaza, which was launched after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 sneak attack inside the Jewish state.

A spokes person Ocasio-Cortez didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Post.

The city DSA has several other unusual resolutions to be voted on Saturday.

These include a proposal that would require candidates seeking the DSA endorsement to back legislation to advance Palestinian liberation and opposing Israel.

Candidates would be asked to support the “boycott, divestment and sanctions” movement against the Jewish state and pledge not to associate with even liberal and moderate American pro-Israel groups such as J Street and the Democratic Majority for Israel.

As previously reported, the DSA is also expected to vote on whether to endorse state Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani for mayor.
