Promising a weekend full of live music, drinks, food, and a variety of art pieces, the Armory Art Center is inviting guests to celebrate its upcoming 40th anniversary with a revamped holiday art festival.
The eighth annual Art + Craft + Design Creative Market, which is free to the public, will run from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the center’s campus, 811 Park Place, West Palm Beach.
Over 50 artisans representing a variety of styles, including ceramics, jewelry, metal, sculpture, painting and photography will have their work on display for purchase. Guests also can visit the Armory Center’s latest exhibits: “A Day in the Life of Palm Beach” featuring the work of artists from across the state; and “Introspection” from West Palm Beach-based Colombian artist Milena Arango.
The festival will feature a pop-up gift store, and multiple giveaways.
There also will be live music from local artists and live art demonstrations inside the center’s studios and at its courtyard. Those demonstrations include Mark Walnock’s lively raku fired pottery demonstration and April Finch’s wax carving and casting.
Parents can bring their budding artists to the Youth Art Area, where they’ll enjoy art activities, including ornament-making.
Hungry guests will have a selection of hand-crafted bites and drinks to choose from including smash burgers or the mimosa and bloody Mary bar.
