What could we expect from Bill Belichick’s North Carolina tenure?

How about free pizza?

In an unexpected twist that has quickly become the talk of Chapel Hill, the NFL icon and new Tar Heels football coach is getting pizzas for at least one North Carolina fraternity for the team’s rivalry basketball game against Duke on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Known for his steely demeanor and no-nonsense approach as the head coach of the Patriots, Belichick’s impromptu act of charity might take some people off guard.

Still, hardly anyone will say no to free pizza.

The report, shared by 247 Sports’ College Editor Ross Martin, outlines that Alec Kerr — North Carolina’s Director of Football Operations — confirmed Belichick’s plan regarding the pizzas.

“Our plan is to deliver the pizzas on behalf of Coach Belichick to your house,” Kerr wrote in the email to an unspecified fraternity.

Belichick hasn’t appeared to comment on it publicly.

While at Wesleyan University in the 1970s, Belichick was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity.

The Tar Heels basketball team is 13-9 on the season with a 6-4 record in ACC play.

They were ranked as high as No. 1 on the season before falling out of the rankings entirely.

Heading into Saturday’s game against Duke — the No. 2 team in the nation led by expected 2025 lottery draft pick Cooper Flagg — UNC has lost three of four.

Duke is 18-2 and 10-0 in ACC play, riding a 14-game winning streak that dates back to to late November.
