While the rest of his 49ers teammates are gunning for a playoff spot, Brandon Aiyuk seemingly went on a race of his own.
The San Francisco wideout posted a video of himself going on a joyride in his Cadillac on Saturday, ripping through the South Bay and hitting triple-digit speeds as he blazed past Levi’s Stadium.
Showing off his new CT5-V Blackwing, which he likened to “Cadillac’s version of the Dodge Hellcat,” Aiyuk pumped his odometer up to 111 mph and held at 104 as he shot past the 49ers’ home stadium.
Aiyuk, 27, has been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in the middle of last season and was officially placed on the team’s injured reserve/left team list last week — ending his season and further muddling his future in San Francisco.
The former first-round draft pick out of Arizona State inked a four-year, $120 million extension with the 49ers after a breakout campaign in 2023 that saw him catch 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.
Following his knee surgery, the perception remained that Aiyuk would return to the team sometime in 2025.
The optimism quickly fizzled after it was reported in November that, ahead of the season, the 49ers voided roughly $27 million in guaranteed money for next season after Aiyuk repeatedly missed rehab sessions for his knee.
Aiyuk reportedly did not fight the team’s decision by filing an official grievance through the NFL Players Association, teeing up a pending divorce between the two sides.
Meanwhile, the 49ers (10–4, 3rd NFC West) currently hold the sixth seed in the playoffs with a 98 percent chance of clinching a postseason berth, according to NFL.com.
They’ll visit the Colts (8–6, 3rd AFC South) for “Monday Night Football” on Dec. 22.
