Ready to take your batting skills to the danger zone?
A Carroll County baseball facility was named by USA Today readers as one of the 10 Best batting cages in the country.
Top Gun Baseball Academy, located in Eldersburg, Md., came in fourth nationally for batting cages, according to USA Today readers.
The facility trades the fighter jet-launching catapults of its namesake movie for fastball-launching pitching machines, which can throw pitches at speeds ranging from 40 mph to 70 mph.

Offerings don’t stop at just batting practice, though, as the facility offers team rentals, pitching cages, multi-use tunnels, and more. A wide-open 2,500-square-foot ‘backyard’ indoor space offers the opportunity for fielding practice, even in poor weather.
Three batting cages are open year-round for walk-in batting practice, available for half-an-hour or hour-long rentals.
Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, a local favorite, placed 6th in best MLB stadium and 10th in best stadium food. Meanwhile, to the east, Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park placed first in best MLB stadium, and second in best stadium food.
