Celebrity chef Guy Fieri, popularly known for his spikey hair, fiery personality and for crusading across the nation for the best “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on the Food Network, is making a pit stop in Tallahassee on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The Emmy Award-winning chef is hosting a meet-and-greet and bottle signing at Market Liquors on North Monroe Street, in support of Santo Spirits, the award-winning tequila brand he co-founded with his longtime friend, rock star Sammy Hagar.

Outside of 49 seasons of the popular Food Network show, the restaurateur, Fieri got his start selling pretzels out of a cart until he saved enough money to go to a culinary school in France, where his passion for food and international cuisine grew. Upon his return to the states, he opened casual dining restaurants after graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

His first network appearance was in 2006 on Food Network’s television competition show, “Next Food Network Star” where he was awarded his own series “Guy’s Big Bite.”

The Columbus, Ohio, native and part-time Palm Beach resident with multi-million-dollar waterfront homes, recently visited the pizzeria Venezia Italian Pizza and Ristorante in North Palm Beach.

As previously reported in The Palm Beach Post, Fieri has filmed at multiple Sunshine State restaurants for his shows and more than 80 Florida restaurants have been featured on Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. He also has a few of his “Chicken Guy” chicken tender restaurant locations operating in Florida.

According to a release sent to the Tallahassee Democrat, Fieri and Hagar teamed up in 2019 “looking for one thing – bold, authentic flavor achieved through uncompromising quality,” adding that “they also wanted to make the best tequilas in the world,” creating a 100% Blue Weber Agave tequila.
