The Raiders came up just short in their attempt at another upset over the Chiefs.

Down 19-17 and in field goal range with less than 20 seconds left in the game, Raiders center Jackson Powers-Johnson snapped the ball to quarterback Aidan O’Connell before he was ready.

The ball ricocheted off O’Connell’s chest and ended up in the hands of the Chiefs, sealing the victory and clinching Kansas City a playoff spot.

The Raiders came into the game as 13.5-point underdogs and would have pulled off the biggest upset of the season had taken the game.

The Chiefs, who moved to 11-1 with the win, have made a habit of winning close games this season.

Nine of their 11 wins have come by one score.

Friday’s contest came less than a year after the Raiders shockingly took down the Chiefs in Kansas City on Christmas Day, 2023.

The Chiefs have now won eight straight regular season home games since falling to the Raiders last Christmas.
