Yvette Nicole Brown is a married woman!

The Community star, 53, wed actor Anthony Davis in what she described as an “intimate, classy and fun” wedding in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 14.

“It’s never too late,” the actress told People in an interview published Sunday, December 15.

“I’m not someone who really likes a lot of attention, and I realized there’s a way that I could have a wedding where I made it more about other people, in the sense that because I am of a certain age and I never thought it would happen for me, my wedding can be an inspirational moment,” Brown continued. “I feel like it’s important to make sure that the way God has blessed me, that I remind people that He is still in the blessing business, and can totally bless them as well.”

Brown and Davis became friends in their twenties but reconnected in 2021 after Brown’s mother died.

“Instead of ‘everybody come and look at me,’ it’s like, ‘Everybody come and look at love. Everybody come and look at what God can do. Everybody come and look at the fact that miracles can still happen,’” Brown added.

The Drake & Josh star wore a mermaid-style white gown designed by Ines Di Santo, while her groom looked dapper in a custom brown suit.

Brown told People, “I had no nerves when it came to marrying this man. He is the one for me. Absolutely.”

The wedding reception featured a special performance by Tony, Grammy and Emmy-winning Hamilton actor Leslie Odom Jr., a friend of the couple. Davis also surprised Brown by arranging for her father — who has Alzheimer’s disease — to attend the wedding in conjunction with his care facility.

In the absence of her mother and with her father ill, Brown said she was walked down the aisle by her brother, Paris.

“So my brother and his sister stood in,” the actress said. “So it was nice to walk down the aisle toward family and with family, even if it’s not the family we wish we had in those roles.”

Brown announced her engagement to Davis in December 2023. In September, she teased exclusively to Us Weekly that their nuptials may be bigger than expected.

“I am not someone who would want a big wedding, but at the same time, there’s so many people that have prayed for me and wished for me who want to celebrate me,” Brown told Us. “And I feel like if I’m gonna have a big party once in my life, celebrating love is the time to do it. So it might end up being a little bigger than I thought it would be.”
