Mariah Carey Night didn’t end on a high note for one Dancing With the Stars duo.
The remaining 12 couples hit the ballroom floor on Tuesday, October 6, performing to various hits by Carey, 57, from “Obsessed” to “Hero.”
“Hi everyone, it’s Mariah,” the pop icon said in a video message played at the beginning of the episode. “What an honor to have an entire evening dedicated to my music. I can’t wait to see how these fabulous couples bring my songs to life. I wish I could be there tonight, but I’ll be watching and cheering you on from afar. Have fun!”
Ciara Miller kicked off the night with a jazz routine to “Emotions,” explaining in her intro package that she and Brandon Armstrong have experienced plenty of emotions throughout the season so far. Carrie Ann Inaba called it her best dance yet, with the pair earning 21 out of 30 points.
Paralympic athlete Ezra Frech later impressed the judges with a steamy rumba, praising his partner, Daniella Karagach, for giving him the space to take on new challenges each week.
Following a string of impressive performances, Julianne Hough quipped that there was “magic” happening in the ballroom. However, the positive energy couldn’t last all night — in the end, Miller and Armstrong were cut from the competition ahead of Super Bowl Night.
“I’m so grateful for Brandon. This experience has been the moment of a lifetime, and there’s no one else I would rather have had this moment with,” the Summer House star said.
Dancing With the Stars season 35 airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Scroll down to see all the scores from Mariah Carey Night:
