Long Island Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi said he’s ready to work with President Trump to fix the country’s broken immigration system — including bolstering border enforcement and cracking down on migrant criminals.

“I know Trump from when I was county executive. He was a real estate executive who donated to my campaign,” Suozzi, who attended the inaugural in Washington, DC, Monday, told The Post.

Suozzi, a moderate, is chairman of the House of Representatives’ Problem Solver Caucus that includes mostly centrist Republicans and Democrats.

“I agree with the president’s emphasis on stopping illegal immigration, deporting criminals and targeting the cartels and organized crime profiting from human exploitation at the southern border,” Suozzi said.

“These should be shared priorities for our nation.”

Trump carried Suozzi’s purple 3rd House district that covers parts of Nassau and eastern Queens by 19,000 votes, while Suozzi won his race over Republican challenger Michael LiPetri Jr. by a slimmer 11,000 votes.

The congressman noted that thousands of Trump voters crossed over and backed him, and constituents want results, not partisan division.

He praised fellow New York House Republicans for pushing to restore the full deduction or lifting the cap on state and local tax taxes on federal returns, and hoped a deal could be reached with Congress and the Trump White House.

Suozzi also said it’s good to see New Yorkers playing key roles in the Trump administration — fellow Long Islander Lee Zeldin will head the Environmental Protection Agency and upstater Elise Stefanik will be the US ambassador to the United Nations.

“While it is easy to dwell on our disagreements, I am committed to working hard to find common ground to address the challenges we face,” Suozzi said.

“I will stand firm and oppose the president and his party where our views differ, but I will also strive to identify solutions that serve the American people.”

Suozzi gave up his House seat in 2022 when he ran unsuccessfully for governor.

He reclaimed the seat in a special election last February after ex-Republican Rep. George Santos, a serial liar and crook, was expelled from Congress.
