Denise Richards’ plastic surgeon is breaking down everything he did for the actress during her recent facelift following her before-and-after reveal.
Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Ben Talei told Inside Edition in a preview from his Monday, March 23, interview that Richards, 55, is “incredibly happy” with her facelift.
He revealed that the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told him, “I look like myself again” after going under the knife.
Talei explained that to get Richards’ tighter overall look he performed a “face and neck lift,” in addition to “a temporal brow restoration, where I actually reset the upper third of the face, which comes down, back into its place.”
The plastic surgeon told the outlet that he also “recontoured the eyes” and did a “cupid corner lift, where we put an incision on the side of the mouth to help neutralize it, and make the side of the mouth look sexier and younger again.”
He added that it took four and a half hours to complete Richards’ facelift surgery.
“[Denise] felt like her face just didn’t look like her anymore,” Talei explained of the reason behind Richards’ transformation. “She’s got the energy of a 12-year-old — she felt like her look didn’t match the way she feels anymore.”
Talei’s breakdown of Richards’ procedure came two days after he and the actress made a joint post about her surgery, sharing dramatic before and after pictures of the actress from every angle.
The doctor called Richards “one of the most lovely and beautiful people to ever walk this earth,” via the Saturday, March 21, Instagram post. “It was an incredible pleasure and honor to be trusted with her restoration and more importantly, the preservation of her character and beauty.”
Talei explained that Richards “stunning, gorgeous eyes were restored rather than changed or just cleaned up” thanks to “so many little” adjustments that the “majority of surgeons in the world would gloss over.”
“Even her earlobes look better from all views. The sad or tired look around the eyes and mouth have been neutralized and reversed,” he noted. “Her neck and upper chest are glowing now with the type of lift that I do combined with the PHAT Skin™️technique.”
The surgeon added that he used various techniques, including “muscle modulation and SMAS optimization” to better lift Richards’ face.
“We are actually able to improve facial character while restoring the smile to be cleaner and more relaxed,” Talei continued. “I’m so grateful to Denise for being so open about the procedure. She’s been through so much this past year and her resilience is just astounding. She has a golden heart and her golden face is hers again.”
