11:45 a.m. update:

ABC News is reporting that Vice President Kamala Harris is planning to speak about the election around 4 p.m.

Harris is planning to speak at Howard University. Her husband, Doug Emhoff, will also attend.

WFTV will have live coverage of Harris’ remarks on Channel 9 and wftv.com.

9:50 a.m. update:

The price of bitcoin hit a new high Wednesday as investors bet that former President Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election will benefit cryptocurrencies, according to the Associated Press.

AP reports Bitcoin jumped nearly 8% in early trading, climbing above $75,000 and smashing its previous record set in March. Other cryptocurrencies also soared, including ether, the world’s second most popular cryptocurrency after bitcoin, which rallied 8%.

8:50 a.m. update:

In addition to winning the White House, Republicans will also flip the U.S. Senate.

The change marks another significant shift in the balance of power in Washington.

With several races still to be decided, Republicans will have at least 52 seats.

7:50 a.m. update:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis congratulated Donald Trump on his presidential election victory.

The scope of the victory — electoral swing state domination, popular vote victory, and a Republican-controlled Senate — represents a decisive rejection of the Biden-Harris administration.”

6:30 a.m. update:

Leaders from around the world are congratulating Donald Trump on his second presidential victory.

Keir Starmer – British Prime Minister

Emmanuel Macron – President of France

Benjamin Netanyahu – Prime Minister of Israel

Volodymyr Zelenskyy – President of Ukraine

5:40 a.m. update:

ABC News has declared former President Donald Trump as the winner of the 2024 election.

Trump will serve a second term as president of the United States.

The decision came after ABC News declared that Wisconsin would go to Trump, giving him 277 electoral college votes.

4:30 a.m. update:

Donald Trump is on the cusp of victory with six states that have not yet been declared.

Trump currently sits at 267 electoral college votes, 3 away from the 270 needed to win the presidency.

The states that have not been declared are Maine, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada and Alaska.

Maine is the only undeclared state that is leaning towards a win for Harris.

Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada are all battleground states in this election.

Trump has already won the other battleground states: Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

If the current track holds, Trump will win every 2024 battleground state.

Though Channel 9 is still waiting for more official results, Trump is easily projected to win the 2024 election.

2:30 a.m. update:

Donald Trump addressed a crowd of his supporters just before 2:30 a.m. at the Palm Beach Convention Center in Florida and declared victory over Kamala Harris.

Before Trump took the stage, Florida politicians shared congratulations for him on social media.

1:00 a.m. update:

Just before 1 a.m., the Harris campaign co-chair addressed the crowd at Howard University, saying that Harris would not address those who gathered for the watch party. Officials said she will address the nation tomorrow.

Just after midnight, former President Donald Trump left Mar-a-Lago and headed to the Palm Beach County Convention Center to speak to those gathered Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Election Night for much of Florida was over by 9 p.m., and they waited for the Presidential numbers to roll in.

Highlights from Tuesday’s general election in Central Florida included Monique Worrell regaining the State Attorney seat in Orange and Osceola Counties and Amendments 3 and 4 failing to get a supermajority to pass.

At a national level, Floridians voted for former President Donald Trump to head back to the White House and sent Senator Rick Scott, Congressmen Maxwell Frost, Mike Waltz, Daniel Webster, Cory Mills, and Mike Haridopolos back to Washington, D.C.
