President Donald Trump isn’t ruling out a presidential run for any of his five children, but choosing a successor doesn’t appear to be top of mind.

Trump, 79, recently took Fox News host Laura Ingraham on a tour of the White House, where she asked about the possibility of his youngest son, Barron Trump, one day serving as president.

The conversation emerged from a discussion about Donald’s many renovations to the White House, including his plans for a multi-million-dollar ballroom.

As Ingraham, 62, admired the new chandeliers, marble floors and other changes to the White House Palm Room, she asked, “Do any of your kids have that same delicate attention to detail that you have? Because you can’t really teach that.”

The president shares three children with his ex-wife Ivana Trump: Donald Trump Jr., 47; Ivanka Trump, 44; and Eric Trump, 41.

He also shares daughter Tiffany Trump, 32, with his ex-wife Marla Maples, and shares Barron with his third wife, first lady Melania Trump.

Replying to Ingraham, Donald said, “I think they do. I think Eric is very good, and Don in a very different way is good, Ivanka is, you know.”

The president then added, “Tiffany is very smart. She was a great student, always a great student. They’re all great students, actually they’re all great students. And I think Barron’s gonna be, uh, tremendous at that. He’s very meticulous.”

When Ingraham asked, “Is he here?” the president replied, “He is, he’s here. He’s right upstairs.”

“Wanna see him?” he asked with a laugh, and Ingraham said, “Yeah, I’d love to see him. I’d love to say hi.”

“He’s doing a good job,” Donald added of his youngest son. “He’s tall. He’s a tall one.”

Ingraham then said, “A lot of people think [Barron] could be the next Trump president.”

Donald replied, “I don’t know. I think—” as Ingraham interjected, “Or Eric, or a lot of people are wondering which child would be the best.”

“In a certain way, they all could,” the president said before abruptly changing the topic to show off his “Presidential Walk of Fame” in the West Colonnade.

Aside from addressing whether there could be a second Trump president down the line, Donald’s comments seemed to confirm that Barron moved back to Washington, D.C., after spending a year at New York University’s campus in Manhattan.

A source told PEOPLE in September that Barron had transferred to NYU’s Washington, D.C., campus, located just a few blocks from the White House.

While taking classes at NYU’s Greenwich Village campus during his first year of college, Barron commuted from his childhood home in Trump Tower, one of his father’s most notable properties.

While Barron has not yet publicly expressed any political aspirations, he did have a hand in Donald’s second presidential victory, according to Melania. The first lady told Fox News shortly after Donald won the 2024 election that her son “was very vocal” with advice for his father.

“He knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to,” she added, telling Fox that Barron “brought in so many young people — he knows his generation.”
