Downtown Indianapolis soup and sandwich shop Subito will appear in the eighth episode of season 39 of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” putting its hefty scratch-made sandwiches in the national spotlight.
Here’s how to watch celebrity chef-host Guy Fieri’s latest stop in Indianapolis.
When to watch Subito’s appearance on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’
Season 39, episode 8 of “Triple D,” “Sandwich Smorgasbord,” will air at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, Jan. 17. It is the series’ 549th episode since its 2007 debut.
Per a description on Food Network’s website, the episode will see Fieri sample inventive meat-heavy sandwiches in San Luis Obispo, Calif. and San Antonio after his stop in Indianapolis for Subito’s mojo pork and beef dip sandwiches.

How to watch live, on demand
Cable subscribers with Food Network can watch the episode live at 9 p.m. They can also sign in to watch.foodnetwork.com using their cable provider credentials. Streaming services with live TV bundles such as YouTube TV, Hulu and Sling allow subscribers to watch “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” when it airs.
If you can’t watch the episode’s first airing, it will be rebroadcast on the Food Network the same night at midnight, then again at 11 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2 a.m. on Jan. 26 and 1 p.m. on Feb. 15. Cable subscribers can watch the episode immediately after it airs on watch.foodnetwork.com. The full latest season of “Triple D” will also land on Discovery+ and Max after it wraps up later this year.
On streaming services, Subito’s appearance in “Sandwich Smorgasbord” will be listed under season 51 because streamers consolidate “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” episodes with episodes of its spinoff “Triple D Nation,” hence the discrepancy in the episode catalogs.
What to know about Subito
Restaurant industry veteran and West Coast transplant Chuck Brezina opened Subito in September 2015 on Virginia Avenue downtown with his wife and business partner Meganne. Sharing a love of Italy (the pair met in Rome in 2006) and seeking to pay homage to their restaurant’s quick walk-up service, the Brezinas named their eatery Subito, meaning “right away” in Italian.
Subito’s menu features recipes from the owners’ friends and family, with dishes like Meganne’s grandmother’s beef soup and a pork sandwich named for Chuck’s longtime friend.
The sandwich spot is the sixth Indianapolis restaurant to appear on Food Network since July, with Fieri making stops for “Triple D” at westside Argentine drive-in Che Chori, eastside Mexican spot Tlaolli and a pair of soul food spots in Pa & Ma’s Backyard BBQ and His Place Eatery. On Jan. 3, Fieri revisited Indy’s historic Steer-In restaurant for his “Triple D Nation” spinoff. The Steer-In was closed by the Marion County Public Health Department less than a week later.
