Clinton Yates is out at ESPN in the latest shakeup for the network.

Yates’ role on the national radio network and ESPN will be ending amid changes to its 10 a.m. to noon ET programming window, Awful Announcing reported Friday.

Additionally, Yates’ work as a senior writer with Andscape will also come to an end, with no additional work planned for the platform.

“We thank Clinton for his contributions and wish him continued success,” ESPN said in a statement to Awful Announcing.

Yates also confirmed his departure from the network in a brief social media post.

“That’s showbiz, kiddos,” he posted to X. “Happy Friday.”

Yates originally joined ESPN back in 2016 as a member of the editorial team that launched Andscape, which was then known as The Undefeated.

In the years following, he became a regular on “Around the Horn,” co-hosted “The Morning Roast,” and was later named the full-time host of “ESPN Daily” in 2024 until it was nixed in February 2025.

Upon that move, Yates seemingly shaded the network on social media while pointing listeners to his new home on ESPN Radio.

“Decisions above my paygrade were made,” Yates posted to X at the time.

Prior to his time at ESPN, Yates was at The Washington Post for nine years, as he covered sports, politics, and culture.

Yates’ ESPN departure comes as multiple personalities have been given the ax, with the network firing longtime tennis announcers Pam Shriver and Brad Gilbert in January.

Both Shriver and Gilbert had worked at the network for over two decades and were ousted by ESPN ahead of the 2026 Australian Open.

“Thanks for the 35+ amazing years,” Shriver wrote on X upon her departure. “I recall AO 1990, after an early round loss, working for ESPN for the first time. I was prepared for more, but was told it was time to streamline.

“Meanwhile my thoughts are with Eaton & Palisades Fire victims on a tough 1 year anniversary.”
