Former Giants receiver Kadarius Toney gave everyone a reminder of why it didn’t work out.

Toney had a dubious effort to forget amid the Browns’ loss to the Steelers on Sunday.

He muffed a punt from the Steelers as the Browns trailed 27-14 with three minutes to go.

Unfortunately for Toney, the Steelers recovered the ball, squandering the outside shot of a Browns comeback.

Earlier in the quarter, Toney opted for a fair catch on a punt return, and then showboated, tossing the ball at Ben Skowronek — who later recovered the muffed punt — which earned a taunting penalty.

The penalty resulted in Cleveland beginning a drive from their own 21 as opposed to their own 36-yard line.

Toney ultimately had zero catches on the day, but did have this muffed punt and the ill-advised taunting penalty after — of all plays — a fair catch.

Toney was memorably and infamously the 20th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Giants, and was quickly moved to the Kansas City Chiefs in the middle of the following season.

Toney is on his third team in four seasons after being promoted to the Browns’ active roster from their practice squad this season.

This was his third appearance for the Browns.
