Recruited to the Dolphins to play safety and mentor rookie Jevon Holland, Jason McCourty sent a text message to his twin brother after just a few practices in the summer of 2021.

“I’m like, ‘I’m not going to be the starter here for long,’ ” McCourty, who was in his 13th and final season at the time, recalled to The Post.

“Jevon walked onto the field in the NFL and he had the ability to cover, the range from a free safety standpoint to get from sideline to sideline, and the size and the ‘want to’ to come up and be a willing and able tackler. Right away I saw a guy that, from a talent standpoint, could play at a high level.”

The Giants invested nearly $100 million last week to sign the duo of Holland and cornerback Paulson Adebo to three-year contracts and remake their secondary via free agency.
