Philanthropist Bill Pulte is eyeing the post of Housing and Urban Development secretary in President-elect Donald Trump’s second cabinet, The Post has learned.

Pulte, the founder of Twitter Philanthropy and CEO of Pulte Capital, is the grandson of home-building and real estate mogul William J. Pulte. The 35-year-old uses X as a platform to document his philanthropic efforts — including giving away thousands of dollars to strangers who often can’t afford groceries or other necessities.

There are “members on the transition committee who are advocating” for Pulte “loudly,” one source familiar with the situation told The Post, adding that Pulte has already had some “conversations” with members of the transition team.

The source added that Dr. Ben Carson, who served as HUD secretary during Trump’s first term, “doesn’t want” the position again.

The Post reported late Monday that Carson’s preference is to be nominated as Health and Human Services secretary.

“Bill comes from a prominent family and is probably best qualified, probably overqualified,” for the HUD position, the source argued, describing Pulte as “a longtime Republican donor” who “kind of flies under the radar.”

“He was the largest donor to Trump’s PAC in 2022,” the person added. “And he’s been a persistent donor to Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.”

Pulte has regularly appeared on Fox Business Network to discuss the impact of inflation on housing prices and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’ housing plan during the 2024 campaign.

He also has not been subtle about his closeness to the Trump team, having posed with honorary transition chair Tulsi Gabbard at Mar-a-Lago last week.

Pulte has also posted of pictures of him with Trump on X.

Early Tuesday, Pulte enthusiastically posted about the president-elect, earning a quote tweet from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who is known to try to sway the Trump transition team.

“The next 4 years will be amazing, and I predict President Trump will be the Best Housing President in history, building Trump Freedom Cities across America! Trump Freedom Cities and Homes will sell like hot cakes and everyone will want to live in one! Watch!” Pulte’s post read.

Pulte also told NBC News that “those who support the president, like myself, would be happy to help him, however he asks.”

The Trump team did not immediately respond to an inquiry from The Post.
