PORT ST. LUCIE — Ronny Mauricio doesn’t know when his time with the Mets will arrive, but more than a year removed from knee surgery remains confident it still will happen for him.

The 23-year-old infielder has been a visible presence in camp, with his booming drives in batting practice and wiry, 6-foot-3 athletic frame that screams raw talent.

But the Mets understand the value of patience.

They are not rushing Mauricio back to the field this spring, more interested in ensuring he is healthy and will be in position to help the major league club at some point this season.
