RALEIGH, N.C. — Dan Hurley looked positively gutted.
If he hadn’t already been sick to his stomach in the minutes immediately following his team’s 77-75 loss to Florida in a scintillating NCAA Tournament second-round game at the Lenovo Center, Hurley looked like he was about to be sick.
When it was over — UConn’s season, its bid for a historic three-peat, the 13 consecutive tournament victories, maybe even the era — Hurley’s voice cracked and his eyes were red.
Because he knew how close his Huskies, two-time defending NCAA champions, were to making more history.
