2025 Florida-Georgia game: What fans should know
The annual Florida Gators-Georgia Bulldogs rivalry game is Saturday, Nov. 1 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Florida-Georgia football rivalry began in 1915 on neutral ground in Jacksonville. Today’s installment will be the last at its traditional home for the next few years as the stadium undergoes major renovations.
Heading into the 103rd edition of what’s no longer officially called the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” the No. 5 Bulldogs are the clear favorite having won seven of the past eight games. Quarterback Gunner Stockton leads the SEC with a .705 completion percentage and threw a career-high four touchdowns in UGA’s last game, a 43-35 comeback win over Ole Miss. Kirby Smart has an inside line to the College Football Playoff, but Georgia (6-1, 4-1) will need to win out to have a shot at making its fifth straight SEC championship game.
And the Gators enter today’s game as a wild card after firing coach Billy Napier before their off week. Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales was named interim coach, and new leadership could reinvigorate DJ Lagway and a struggling offense. UF (3-4, 2-2) has never had to worry about its defense, which has allowed only two teams to score more than 21 points this season: undefeated Texas A&M and No. 9 Miami.

- Georgia 35, Florida 24: “Florida will play hard and catch Georgia’s defense off guard a few times with a new offensive system led by Gonzales and (play-caller Ryan) O’Hara. But the Bulldogs will adjust and take control of the game in the second half. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton will throw three TD passes, exploiting UF’s banged-up secondary.” – Kevin Brockway, Gainesville Sun
