Here is something that has been floating in my head for a while now:

Who do you think is the better bet over the next 4-5 years: Gerrit Cole or Blake Snell?

I have been mulling it for a few months. Because if the Yankees had agreed to add a 10th year to his contract after last season to keep the righty from opting out, Cole would have had five years at $180 million remaining — or basically what the Dodgers agreed to last December with Snell (five years, $182 million).

In other words, the Dodgers gave Snell what the Yankees wouldn’t give Cole.
