Zoe Saldaña is recalling her first kiss.
While Emilia Pérez star Saldaña, 46, spoke with W Magazine for the outlet’s best performances of 2024 interview series, the actress said that her first kiss “was with a girl” while reflecting on her celebrity crushes, experience making her Spanish-language Netflix musical and life as a Gemini.
“I must have been 13 or 14. I was that girl who said, ‘Let’s play house.’ And that’s why I wasn’t invited to play at people’s houses!” Saldaña said of her first kiss. “So I was already kissing a whole bunch of girls by the time I was 13, 14. Girls are such better kissers.”
Saldaña’s reflection on her first kiss came after she told the outlet that her celebrity crushes as a child included singers Prince and Annie Lennox. “There was just something androgynous about them,” she said of the pair. “I love a woman who’s masculine and a man who is feminine. I find that to be really sexy.”

“It feels really overwhelmingly beautiful,” Saldaña told PEOPLE of receiving a Golden Globe nomination — a first in her career — back on Dec. 9. “I didn’t know how much I wanted it because I stopped thinking that it would ever happen for someone like me. I’m really having an out of body experience and my heart is full of gratitude. It feels good to be recognized for the hard work that you put into something that you believe so much in.”
