Glenn Close didn’t realize how much the audience saw her breasts in Fatal Attraction until recently rewatching the film.
“I hadn’t seen it in a very long time,” the actress, 78, said during an appearance on The Graham Norton show on Saturday, November 29. “I mean, memories flew back into my mind — especially, I didn’t know that I showed my breasts so much.”
Close starred in the 1987 Oscar-nominated film alongside Michael Douglas and Anne Archer. The film follows Close’s character, Alex Forrest, as she becomes scarily obsessed with a married man (Douglas) after she has an affair with him. It includes a steamy scene with Close sans shirt.
“They weren’t anything spectacular to see, but they were visible,” she quipped.
Fatal Attraction was a box-office success and earned critical acclaim. It was the second-highest-grossing film of 1987 behind Three Men and a Baby. Fatal Attraction earned multiple Academy Award nominations, including a nod for Close for Best Actress. (She lost to Cher for Moonstruck.)
Close explained that she decided to watch the film with her All’s Fair costars Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash-Betts, Naomi Watts and Teyana Taylor. The idea came about after Kardashian, 45, revealed she had never seen the movie and offered to host a movie night for the group at her mom Kris Jenner’s home.
“Kim said, ‘Let’s all go over to my mother’s house in our Skims pajamas and watch Fatal Attraction,” Close recalled.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Close opened up about the bonding event.
“I arrived in my pajamas and my bathrobe at her mother’s house,” she told Us in April. “We had fabulous martinis. It was really fun.”
In an October appearance on with The View, Kardashian echoed similar sentiments about the group’s get-together.
“We had a little sleepover. It was really fun,” Kardashian said.
Kardashian added that the event included “some drinks,” which led to Close “spilling” the tea about what happened behind the scenes.
“It would be like, ‘Wait, pause it.’ She was like, ‘I needed a pitcher of tequila before. It was hiding at the bottom. If you look close enough in the elevator scene,’” Kardashian recalled. “Every scene, she had a story.”
Close and Kardashian have grown close while working together on All’s Fair, which has been renewed for season 2. Last month, Close defended the Hulu series despite widespread negative reviews.
“I swear to God, I’ve seen all nine episodes and it’s pretty f***ing good,” Close told The Guardian in November. “It is what it is: It’s juicy and outrageous at times and touching.”
Close also praised Kardashian for being a “lovely” person and working hard on the project while balancing other elements of her personal life.
“[Kim is] very, very conscientious with her kids,” she explained. “When we were filming she was going through working towards her law degree, and near the end she would have flashcards. She now has her law degree, and I asked her: ‘Are you going to practice?’ And she said: ‘No, I just want it in my back pocket.’”
