One of Greer’s most popular chefs, Mike Sibert, will appear in an upcoming episode of Food Network’s “Chopped” — a culinary competition show that pits some of the best chefs in America against one another for a shot at $10,000.
Chef Sibert confirmed his upcoming appearance on the Food Network on a social media post in late February. The owner of White Wine & Butter will appear on the cable network show on Tuesday, March 4, at 8 p.m.
A well-known and celebrated culinary expert throughout the Upstate and beyond, Chef Sibert has spent the last few years in the spotlight, serving as the 2024 South Carolina Chef Ambassador and appearing on an episode of Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games” in 2023.
White Wine & Butter is a new restaurant in downtown Greer at the Cartwright Food Hall. It is one of the first Black chef-owned restaurant in the city. Chef Michael Sibert is the owner of the business.
Most recently, Chef Sibert reopened his signature restaurant brand, White Wine & Butter, on February 20, at 2299 E. Gap Creek Road in Greer. There, he hosts a menu based around freshly made pasta, tableside-prepared foods, prime rib, tapas-style dishes, and a lamb and grits recipe similar to what he made during his Food Network appearance in 2023.

What is Food Network’s ‘Chopped’ TV show?
“Chopped” is a culinary competition show televised on the Food Network. It features four chefs who are challenged to test their creative skills and preparation under pressure.
Through three rounds of competition, the four contestants will have a specific amount of time (usually 30 minutes) to prepare an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. One contestant will be eliminated after each course is served to four established judges.
The challenge comes from a basket. Prior to beginning the 30-minute clock, the basket is filled with four mystery ingredients that must be used during the course creation.
Participating chefs are judged on the taste, creativity, and implementation of the mystery ingredients. At the end of the dessert round, the overall winner receives a $10,000 reward.
“Chopped” premiered in January 2009 on the Food Network and is hosted by Ted Allen.
