Grimes is opening up further about her son X Æ A-Xii’s recent visit to the Oval Office.
X, 4, attended the White House for a press conference with his father, Elon Musk, 53, who is the head of President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, on February 11. The visit came as a surprise to Grimes — real name Claire Elise Boucher — who discovered her son’s high-profile appearance via social media.
“He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank (you) for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh,” Grimes shared via X at the time in response to a user who noted how “polite” her son was during the press conference.
Speaking to Time in an interview published on Monday, February 24, Grimes elaborated further, explaining, “It was like, ‘Grimes slams,’ ‘Grimes speaks out.’ It’s like, OK, it was a reply.”
“But I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere. I think fame is something you should consent to. Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I’m just asking,” she continued.
Grimes, 36, and Musk split in 2022, but share three children, X, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2.
The singer previously objected to her ex taking X to a New Year’s Eve party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, per The Cut. “I have made it clear I do not approve of that in every conceivable way I know how,” she wrote in January. “I am desperate to solve it. It is a personal tragedy to me. But currently I don’t know how to do that.”
Grimes recently raised concerns when she publicly asked Musk to respond concerning a “medical crisis” involving one of their three children.
“I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation,” Grimes (real name Claire Elise Boucher), wrote via X on Thursday, February 20, per Page Six. “This requires immediate attention. If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can do that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.”
As well as his three children with Grimes, Musk is a father to children with multiple other women.
Earlier this month, author Ashley St. Clair claimed she welcomed a baby with Musk five months ago — his 13th child.
