Wisconsin and Notre Dame are meeting on a big stage in Week 1.
Tonight, the Midwest powerhouses go head-to-head at the Packers’ home Lambeau Field to kick off their respective seasons.
Coming into the cheesehead-friendly matchup, Marcus Freeman’s “home” Fighting Irish are ranked fourth in the nation and look to start their season strong behind quarterback CJ Carr and standout cornerback Leonard Moore after they won ten games in a row last year before controversially opting out of the College Football Playoff last December.
Here, they’re favored by 20.5 points against Luke Fickell’s Badgers, who went 4-8 in 2025.

“We’ve got to find a way to close a gap,” Fickell said in a press conference. “Well, we’re going to find out where we are in closing that gap. If they’re really the No. 1 team or the No. 2 team or No. 3 team in the country or the odds-on favorite to be the national champ, whatever. I mean, we’re going to find out real quick at what gaps there were and what we’ve seen and where we are.”
Starting quarterback Colton Joseph, who transferred from Old Dominion, will be making his Wisconsin debut. Star linebacker Sebastian Cheeks returns as well.
