Sen. Bernie Sanders had choice words after attending President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In a video posted to the Vermont senator’s social media, Sanders set wealth inequality and the three wealthiest billionaires in his sights, blasting them and Trump for neglecting working-class families.

“The wealthiest three people in America now own more wealth than the bottom half of our society,” Sanders said. “Trump had nothing to say, not one word, about the growing gap between the very rich and everybody else.”

Sanders then said that the three wealthiest men in the United States, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg had sat behind the president at his inauguration, adding that their wealth has increased by $233 billion since Trump won the 2024 presidential election.

“They couldn’t be happier,” Sanders said.

Musk is worth $430.4 billion, Bezos is worth $247.1 billion and Zuckerberg is worth $218 billion, according to Forbes. Forbes also reported that Sanders has earned at least $2.5 million since 2011.

Sanders called for health care reform, affordable housing and a raising of the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour in the U.S. He also said that, in the next four years, it will be imperative to get organized, educate each other and compel Congress to act correctly on important issues.

“With Republicans only holding a three or four-seat advantage in the House, we can stop them time and time again, if we are organized,” Sanders said.

It appears that Sanders is running for reelection in 2030, as indicated by his filing of candidacy papers with the Federal Election Commission this past Monday.

However, no official statement has been given by Sanders’ office about a 2030 senatorial run and they did not respond to a request for comment.
