Hurricane Milton was a monster storm — particularly devastating to the Treasure Coast of Florida.

And that was before Hurricane Milton made landfall across the state.

Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 as a Category 3 storm. On the other side of the coast, Hurricane Milton had spawned tropical tornadoes, destroying homes in Vero Beach and Spanish Lakes community.

The staff of TCPalm, a USA TODAY Network newspaper, worked tirelessly through the impacts of Hurricane Milton, providing continuous information that mattered most to the Treasure Coast. This included the devastating impacts of the multiple tornadoes that ripped through the community.

TCPalm editors, visuals journalists and reporters prepared you ahead of the storm, safely worked through the highest winds and rain and provided important content immediately after – despite some sustaining damage to their own homes.
