There’s no celebration for the first day of spring quite like Dairy Queen’s annual Free Cone Day.
The fast food chain is kicking off the season by offering customers one free small vanilla cone. The special is available Thursday, March 20 only at participating locations, while supplies last. There is a limit of one per customer. Free cones are not available for delivery through the DQ Rewards mobile app.

This year, Dairy Queen is partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for Free Cone Day. Choose to dip your cone in one of Dairy Queen’s dipped coatings for $1 and the fast food chain will donate the dollar to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
“Free Cone Day is by far one of our favorite days of the year,” Dairy Queen Vice President of Marketing Maria Hokanson said in a news release. “There’s nothing sweeter than enjoying a tasty cone — on DQ — to kick off a season full of reasons to celebrate.”
