Will the Jacksonville Jaguars throwback uniforms bring them good fortune again?
For the second home game this season, the Jaguars will wear their “Prowling” throwback jerseys for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets (1 p.m., FOX). The jerseys will be combined with white pants and the team’s usual black helmets.
The Jags (3-10) last won at home on Oct. 6 against Indianapolis, wearing the throwbacks. They won their first game of the season after four losses in a row. Their only victories since then have been against New England in London and on the road last week at Tennessee.
Sunday’s game also is the Jaguars “Inspire Change” game, 100 new American citizens will go through their naturalization ceremony at halftime and the National Anthem will be sung by a former player who once wore the same throwbacks the team will wear.
Game poster available
The gameday poster given free to the first 300 fans to come to the Fan Entertainment Center before kickoff was designed by Nathaniel Deas, who specializes in hand-drawn psychedelic art. The poster is a representation of the “Inspire Change” theme. The artist will be on hand to meet fans and sign the posters.
Jaguars autograph opportunities
Past Jaguar cornerbacks Aaron Beasley and Demetrius McCray will sign autographs at the Flex Field from 11:20-11:45 a.m. Beasley played for the Jags from 1996-2001, with 242 solo tackles and 15 interceptions. McCray played in 45 games for the Jags from 2013-2015.
New citizens will be sworn in
One hundred new U.S. citizens representing 36 countries will be naturalized in an on-field ceremony during halftime. They range in age from 18-74 and currently reside in Florida. The Jaguars were the first NFL franchise to hold naturalization ceremonies and more than 500 citizens have been sworn in since 2018.
First “Duuuval”
