Former Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor is asking for spousal support from his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.
According to court documents obtained by Us on Friday, November 6, Taylor, 47, is requesting that Cartwright, 37, pay approximately $17,000 a month in spousal support as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Taylor stated that he has struggled to get or keep business opportunities, claiming Cartwright allegedly orchestrated a campaign to label him an “abuser.”
Following his November 2025 rehab stint, Taylor said he was committed to establishing a “healthy coparenting relationship” with Cartwright and strengthening his role as their 5-year-old son Cruz’s father.
“In early 2026, his future looked bright. He had even secured a lucrative role on another reality show when suddenly, his offer was inexplicably terminated,” Taylor’s attorney claimed in court documents. “He was shocked to learn it was Brittany who had orchestrated that termination.”
According to Taylor’s team, this loss “marked the beginning of a terrible chapter in which Brittany has taken aim at Jax again and again, both publicly and privately, clearly trying to prevent him from moving forward with his life.”
Cartwright’s rep previously denied Taylor’s claims that his ex attempted to interfere with his career by speaking about alleged abuse she faced in their relationship.
“The contradiction is difficult to ignore. Brittany is criticized because she did not report the abuse years ago, yet now that she has finally sought the Court’s protection, she is accused of trying to ‘ruin’ his career and ‘sabotage’ his ability to work because she disclosed it,” Cartwright’s rep said in a September statement to People. “A victim cannot fairly be attacked both for remaining silent and for eventually speaking out and seeking protection.” (A judge ultimately granted both parties a temporary restraining order.)
In new court filings, Taylor listed his occupation as an “actor, reality star, television personality and podcast creator.” The former Valley star also claimed that “no one will hire me.”
The former Bravo star claims he’s earned $30,334 in average monthly income over the last 12 months, but his estimated monthly expenses are $28,944. Per court documents, he estimates Cartwright’s company made more than $630,000 in gross income from January 1 to May 31.
“Jax is seeking monthly child support and spousal support from Brittany based upon the undeniable, clear and vast disparity between the parties’ incomes and access to funds and his inability to maintain the marital standard of living without a contribution from Brittany,” Taylor’s attorney claimed in court documents. “This disparity is directly due to Brittany’s documented campaign, commencing in or about early 2026, to wreak havoc on Jax’s public image and sabotage his ability to continue his career in the entertainment industry and earn an income.”
Taylor’s attorney claimed his client is “currently 700+ days sober” and “would be able to return to gainful employment, at the top of his game, were it not for Brittany’s actions aimed at sabotaging his employability. … The effects of Brittany’s campaign against Jax have been emotionally and financially devastating.”
Us has reached out to Cartwright’s attorneys for comment.
In a statement to Us on Friday, Taylor’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan further explained his client’s reasoning for requesting spousal support.
“From the beginning of these divorce proceedings, our client, Jax Taylor, made it clear that he had no intention of seeking spousal or child support. His only objective was to resolve this divorce as quickly, privately and amicably as possible,” the statement read. “Unfortunately, actions by Ms. Cartwright have created circumstances that have changed the dynamics of this case, dramatically. Despite Mr. Taylor’s continued commitment to his sobriety, significant personal growth and efforts to rebuild his personal life, he has been subjected to a deliberate and sustained campaign of public disparagement and professional interference by Ms. Cartwright. These actions have extended beyond public statements to direct interference with potential employment opportunities, including opportunities within the entertainment industry, significantly impacting his ability to earn a living.
Kaplan said his client’s request for spousal support “is not an act of retaliation.”
“Mr. Taylor remains committed to pursuing a resolution of this litigation in a manner which is fair and focused on the issue of the most paramount importance, the protection of the Parties’ son, while maintaining his sobriety and continuing to rebuild his life,” the statement continued. “While he welcomes the opportunity to put these proceedings behind him and move forward without further unnecessary conflict, that goal cannot be promoted only by him to successfully achieve that outcome.”
Taylor and Cartwright were married from 2019 until their separation in 2024. Taylor has since moved on with their once-shared publicist, Lori Krebs.
Taylor claimed in court documents that Cruz spends 30 percent of his time with dad and 70 percent with mom. Taylor also stated that he does not have health insurance available for Cruz through his current jobs.
Last month, Taylor’s attorney asked a judge to declare the reality TV star legally single while he still works out a global divorce settlement that covers financial, property and support issues.
“It is clear that this marriage is beyond repair and that no one will benefit by keeping the parties bound to one another as husband and wife,” court documents stated. “Moreover, [Taylor] would like the freedom to move forward with his life as a single person, and we assume [Cartwright] would like the same opportunity.”
