Vice President JD Vance fired back at Barack Obama Thursday after the former president likened the current White House look to that of a Cheesecake Factory run by Saddam Hussein.
âI didn’t fully get it. I kind of like the Cheesecake Factory,â Vance said of Obamaâs jab at a Texas town hall event hosted by Fox Newsâ Jesse Watters.
âI think it’s like a good example of how Obama, without even trying to be, just can’t help himself from being super elitist,â the vice president argued.
âRemember, this is the guy who said that people who wanted good jobs were âclinging to their guns and their religion,â as if God and the Second Amendment were something to be ashamed of,” he added.
In attempting to mock President Trump, Vance said Obama âdrove home how divorced the Democrats are from actual Americans.â
Obama unleashed the decor diss Saturday while stumping for Democrats in Ohio, as he accused Trump of spending more time sprucing up the White House than helping Americans.
âI mean, I donât know if youâve noticed, but he seems very focused on home renovations,â Obama said. âHe should be on HGTV.â
âHeâs got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.â
Watters noted that Obama seemingly backpedaled on his criticism during a rally in Atlanta on Wednesday, where he insisted as âthe father of two daughtersâ the Cheesecake Factory was âmy jam for about a decade.â
âSee, that’s exactly the point, though ⦠he realized, âOh, a lot of the people we want to vote for us actually like the Cheesecake Factory,ââ Vance explained.
The veep added that the establishment is âthe weirdest restaurant to hate on.â
âThe menu is like 75 pages long, so there’s something for everybody,â he joked.
âI just don’t understand. Like, there are restaurants I can imagine beating up on â not the Cheesecake Factory,â Vance said. âLeave us alone, Barack!â
Watters joked that the networkâs next town hall will be held inside a Cheesecake Factory.
