Jerry Jones grinned like a Cheshire cat when he watched Quinnen Williams take down Geno Smith in Monday’s game between the Cowboys and the Raiders.

The Cowboys owner was looking on in the middle of the second quarter when Williams pulled down the Raiders QB for his first sack in a Dallas uniform since he was acquired from the Jets at the trade deadline.

Slumped down in his seat inside a suite at Allegiant Stadium, Jones was all too pleased to have seen the midseason acquisition come up with the big play with 12:35 remaining in the first half.

Williams celebrated the sack by doing a dance before seeming to high-five his new teammates.

The moment surely felt good for Jones, who paid a hefty price to get Williams from the Jets earlier this month.

The Cowboys traded a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and Mazi Smith to get Williams.

Williams finished the first half of the game with 1.5 sacks and four QB hits, which already surpassed his season totals with the Jets, where he had just 1.0 sacks and three QB hits.

It had been reported that Williams was unhappy toward the end of his tenure with the Jets, and he seemed to confirm that when he spoke with reporters following the trade.

“I think the world knew I was frustrated being there so long and still losing,” Williams said earlier this month. “Any ultra-competitor, man, any guy who plays this game to win is going to be frustrated no matter if you win 100 games and lose that one.”

The Cowboys moved to 4-5-1 with Monday’s 33-16 win over the Raiders.
