Jersey Shore BBQ, serving brisket, ribs and barbecue-inspired breakfast dishes in downtown Point Pleasant Beach, is the latest Shore restaurant to appear on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”

The episode, titled “From Vietnamese to Vegan,” will air at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.

Filming took place in May, said owner Doug Walsh, who started his restaurant more than a decade ago in Belmar before expanding to East Brunswick and Point Pleasant Beach. The Ocean County restaurant opened in 2021.

“I’m elated, just really excited,” Walsh said.

This wasn’t the first time he met the show’s host, celebrity chef Guy Fieri. “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” filmed an episode at 10th Avenue Burrito Co. in Belmar in 2010. While he was there, Fieri came into the newly opened Jersey Shore BBQ, which is now closed, after spotting Walsh’s smoker in the back of the restaurant.

After asking Walsh “why aren’t we filming you?”, Fieri said he’d be back.

Being on the show meant 15 hours of filming over two days, said Walsh, who prepared a chicken sandwich, pork belly, collard greens and his Texas Reuben made with smoked corned beef.

Fieri liked the food, complimented his Russian dressing and suggested Walsh start bottling his sauces.

“The crew and him … it was just an amazing experience,” Walsh said. “They were incredible to work with, the utmost professionals.”

Jersey Shore BBQ is the second in Point Pleasant Beach restaurant to be featured on this season of the show — Heights 167, a Latin American fusion restaurant on Richmond Avenue, appeared Oct. 4 — and the sixth at the Shore since its season premiere in late August. Fieri also filmed episodes at Skratch Kitchen in Bradley Beach, Cavé Bistro and Seed to Sprout in Avon, and Mutiny BBQ Company in Asbury Park.
