Is Jonathan Bailey the coolest-looking actor at the Emmy’s 2024? The Fellow Traveler star is nominated for an award tonight, but he might’ve already won the red carpet.

He just arrived in a swankier version of a traditional black and white tuxedo by Armani, complete with a black dinner jacket, white silk shirt (generously unbuttoned), a black silk cummerbund, and tailored black shoes. Where his steeze comes in: his red-tinted sunglasses, and his gardenia brooch placed on his jacket’s left lapel. Bailey hits a trifecta not easily achieved—elegant, formal, with a dash of sex-appeal. It’s a little early to say, but Bailey might take home the crown for best-dressed.

The actor’s sartorial choices range. At awards shows, Bailey often dons tailored suits that always have a dash of whimsy to them: a Loewe suit with a flower brooch replacing a bowtie at the Met Gala 2024, an all-white Givenchy suit with wide-leg trousers at the Golden Globes 2024, and a sharp Tom Ford tuxedo worn at an Oscars 2024 afterparty are a few examples. Off the red carpet, Bailey’s style leans more relaxed and is often wearing Loewe.

Bailey is nominated for his performance as Tim Laughlin in the series Fellow Travelers, where he stars alongside Matt Bomer. Fellow Travelers is based on the book by Thomas Mallon and is set in the 1950s McCarthy-era Washington, D.C. The political thriller follows the romance of two men over four decades. This is the 36-year-old’s first-ever Emmy nomination, though in the past he’s been awarded the Laurence Olivier Award and a Critics’ Choice Television Award.
