Maybe she needed the snacks for another reason …

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has been lampooned after bringing up her love for Doritos while attempting to make a point about “innovation” at a conference on AI.

The failed 2024 Democratic presidential candidate went off on a bizarre (and nacho cheese-flavored) tangent while trying to make a point about DoorDash and affordable housing during her headline slot at the HumanX conference at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Sunday.

Harris, 60, left many baffled during her conversation with Nuno Sebastiao, CEO of data science company Feedzai, as she recounted ordering food on DoorDash to keep her going while watching last week’s Oscars.

“We did DoorDash ’cause I wanted Doritos. And the red carpet part was about to start and nobody wanted to leave to go to the grocery store. So it was DoorDash … So I was willing to give up whatever might be the tracking of Kamala Harris’ particular fondness for nacho cheese Doritos for the sake of getting a big bag of Doritos as I watched the Oscars,” she burbled.

Her actions were described as “consumer behavior” by a game Sebastiao in response.

“And that’s right. But here’s the thing: At what point do we also uplift and highlight the consumer’s right to also expect — and you can debate with me if it should be a right — I think it should,” Harris rambled on.

“To expect that the innovation would also be weighted in terms of solving their everyday problems, which are beyond my craving for Doritos, but about whatever — and I know the work is happening — around, you know, scientific discoveries, for example, to cure longstanding diseases.

“But I’m going to throw out another one,” she added, changing the subject almost completely. “I would love it if there would be an investment of resources in solving the affordable housing issue in America. Like, help me with that. Help me with that.”

The bizarre cameo was mocked by social media users who recalled her “word salads” while a heartbeat away from the presidency.

“Kamala Harris tries to explain what scientific innovation looks like and it sounds like the dumbest thing imaginable. She’s three glasses of wine deep,” one X user wrote.

“Kamala is drunk again,” another added.

“Imagine if we had to endure four years of Doritos anecdotes,” conservative pundit Matt Walsh wrote on X.

“Kamala Harris used DoorDash to get Doritos delivered so she could do that cringe photo-op,” another X user wrote, referencing a picture Harris shared on Oscars night of her with the fateful bag of snacks.

“How she managed to lose the 2024 election remains a mystery,” the person added sarcastically.

“We dodged a missile, not a bullet,” another wrote of the 2024 election outcome.

Harris is reportedly considering a run for governor of California to succeed term-limited Democrat Gavin Newsom.

She is slated to decide whether to enter the race by the end of this summer, Politico reported Friday.

Harris’ chronic inability to give concise or even coherent statements was raised as a significant issue by pundits during her presidential campaign.

Her repeated use of the phrase “unburdened by what has been” became a catch-all shorthand used by critics to show up her weak communication skills.

In September, she started discussing her middle-class upbringing by emphsizing that her neighbors took special interest in their lawns as she struggled to articulate how she would make life more affordable for ordinary Americans.

Last month, Harris was mocked as a “drunk auntie” for her nonsensical speech to the Broadway cast of “A Wonderful Life: The Louis Armstrong Musical.”

The former veep’s repeated attempts to use her love for Doritos to make herself appear more down-to-earth were also mocked.

Last August, she paused for a photo op with a bag of chips alongside her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and their spouses at a Sheetz convenience store in the key swing state of Pennsylvania.

“This is my go-to,” she said while holding up the red bag of snacks. “The original, nacho cheese.”
