Katalina’s Tres, the third of owner Kathleen Day’s Latin-leaning and Southern-influenced local restaurants, opens today in Bexley.
And yes, pancake balls — filled with Nutella, dulce de leche or pumpkin-apple butter — are the first item on the menu.

The newest Katalina’s is at 2741 E. Main St. in Bexley, in a building that once housed a Boston Market. It will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Katalina’s Tres menu also includes the Everything But the Kitchen Sink Sammy that was featured on Day’s appearance in an August episode of Guy Fieri’s Food Network show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

And there’s a new item as well. The Shakshuka Brekkie Sammy includes an egg poached in a tomato-pepper sauce, topped with queso fresco and a green hot sauce called zhug and served on a peppery bagel from Sammy’s Bagels of Columbus.
The original Katalina’s is at 1105 Pennsylvania Ave. in Harrison West. Katalina’s, Too! is at 3481 N. High St. in Clintonville.
