Kendall Jenner is appearing in her first-ever Super Bowl ad — and poking fun at her dating life in the process.
The supermodel, 30, stars in a new Fanatics Sportsbook commercial where she playfully mocks the belief that NBA players who date her later become bad at their sport.
“Haven’t you heard? The internet says I’m cursed,” Jenner begins in the TV spot, which debuted online Tuesday, January 27. “Any basketball player who dates me kinda hits a rough patch.”
The Kardashians star goes on to joke that her wealth comes from successful sports betting.
“How else do you think I can afford all this? Modeling?” she quips, walking down a staircase lined with paintings of her with unidentified basketball players (whose faces have been ripped out of the artwork).
“This pool? Basketball Boyfriend 1 missed the playoffs. I guess nobody was getting a ring in this house,” she says while floating on a raft.
Later, she shows off a vintage car and claims she bought it after betting on yet another paramour.
“Do you like this bad boy? Boyfriend 2 flopped right out of the league. Not that I ever drive,” she jokes.
Finally, Jenner climbs aboard a private jet (“Thanks, Boyfriend 3!”) and says she’s ready “to bet on something new: football players.” She and a flight attendant then laugh as they prepare to fly to California for Super Bowl LIX.
“Kardashian curse,” Jenner adds while sipping a glass of champagne. “That’s not even my last name.”
The ad is part of a promotion that will allow fans to bet along with Jenner, who will share her pick for the winner of the big game on Wednesday, January 28. The following day, fans can “Bet on Kendall” using the Fanatics Sportsbook app.
“The magic of this campaign is how Kendall Jenner transforms the lore of the Kardashian Kurse into something playful, participatory and [unmistakably] of the moment,” Selena Kalvaria, chief marketing officer at Fanatics Betting and Gaming, said of the ad in a press release. “With Fanatics’ unparalleled cultural influence in sports, ‘Bet on Kendall’ is the perfect way to bring Fanatics Sportsbook into the spotlight with Fanatics Studios and our incredible partners at OBB Media.”
While the commercial doesn’t drop any specific hints about who Jenner might be referring to, fans know that she’s dated several NBA stars over the years. Most recently, she was in a relationship with Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker off and on from 2020 to 2022 before they briefly rekindled their romance last year.
Jenner has previously been linked to past and present NBA players Blake Griffin, Ben Simmons, D’Angelo Russell, Chandler Parsons, Jordan Clarkson and Kyle Kuzma.
Years before the Super Bowl ad, Jenner’s own sister roasted her for having a type. During season 3 of the family’s Hulu reality show, Kim Kardashian wore a T-shirt that read, “Kendall Starting Five” and included photos of some of the NBA players she’s dated.
