Former Eagles defensive tackle Kevin Johnson died this week, TMZ reported Thursday.

He was 55.

A cause of death was not shared.

Johnson’s son, other family members and friends reportedly mourned his loss on social media.

Johnson was a fourth-round pick (86th overall) by the Patriots in the 1993 NFL Draft. After being released by New England, he went on to play for the Eagles, Vikings (practice squad) and the Raiders.

He tallied six sacks, 19 tackles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in 11 games for Philadelphia in the 1995 season.

He recorded one sack and 14 tackles in 12 games for the Eagles in the 1996 season before being released that December.

Johnson spent a year with the Raiders in 1997 before taking his talents to the Arena Football League, where he won a championship with the Orlando Predators in 1998.

Johnson signed with the Los Angeles Avengers in 2000 and ’01 and was limited to just four games due to injury.

A Southern California native, Johnson played at Los Angeles Harbor College before transferring to Texas Southern.
