Lala Kent has spoken about coparenting daughter Ocean with former fiancé Randall Emmett.

Opening up during the Tuesday, November 19, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Kent, 34, said she and Emmett, 53, have found common ground in caring for the four-year-old.

“We have come to a place where, it’s like, we have one thing in common and that is this child and what is best for her and you have productive conversations,” Kent told Cohen, 56, on the show. “It’s not always golden.”

The Vanderpump Rules star, who became engaged to Emmett, a film producer, in 2018 and welcomed Ocean while still engaged to him in March 2021, explained that she made peace with the challenges that often come with coparenting.

“I’m, like, a really fun ride, you know, I’ll take you on a rollercoaster. One day we’re good and then the next day he pisses me off,” Kent explained. “It’s all good. We always come back to Ocean and her wellbeing.”

Kent, who welcomed her second child, daughter Sosa, via intrauterine insemination (IUI) on September 3, and Emmett called off their engagement in 2021 with an insider telling Us Weekly at the time that, “Randall did not want to split but it was Lala’s decision. The trust is gone.”

The announcement came one month after breakup speculation was sparked when Kent “liked” a meme about Emmett allegedly cheating on her. The “like” also coincided with Kent deleting photos of Emmett from her social media.

During an appearance on the “Melissa Gorga on Display” podcast in December 2021, Kent spoke candidly about how the breakup impacted her day-to-day life as a mother to Ocean. “I wonder often where I’m getting strength from and obviously I see my daughter and I know exactly where my strength is from, but I’d be lying to you if I said that, you know, this whole experience has been traumatizing and it haunts me daily,” Kent said at the time.

In March 2022, Kent went public with cheating accusations against Emmett, addressing the subject within the comments section of an Instagram post that month. “I was alone during most of my pregnancy and for the first 7 months of her life, until the mask fell and I saw who he really was. He started a relationship with a 23 year old in march of 2021 — the month I gave birth,” she wrote.

Kent’s public claims were followed by her April 2022 update on coparenting Ocean. “We parallel parent, and I’m trying to move to zero contact,” Kent said during an appearance on WWHL.

The positive turn in Kent’s family life comes as she reveals she’s found happiness in raising two young children. Taking to Instagram on September 18 to reflect on the safe arrival of Sosa, she wrote about her newfound joy. “I’ve been open about my dream of this moment- at 10:13pm the moment came true. My little dream baby entered the world. I am completely in love with her- We all are,” Kent captioned a carousel of touching memories. “Sosa, you have no idea what you have brought into my life. I am blessed to call myself your mama. Welcome to our crazy world, boo boo. We are so happy you’re here 💕”
